Braeburn Apple, Chilli & Pea Spread
  • For the spread

    80g frozen peas
  • 150g Braeburn skin-on apples, roughly sliced
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus extra to drizzle on toast)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Ground cumin and fennel seeds
  • To serve

    4 slices of sourdough or rye bread

Ingredients

  • For the spread

  • 150g Braeburn skin-on apples, roughly sliced
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus extra to drizzle on toast)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Ground cumin and fennel seeds
  • To serve

Method
  • Blend the spread ingredients together in a food processor or bullet blender – you’ll be left with a rough textured spread. Add a splash of water to the blender to loosen the mixture as needed. Try ground cumin and fennel seeds in addition to the spices.
  • Toast the bread and spread thick amounts of spread over the slices. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
